Why are we "Pros"?

Why do we put the "pro" in procrastination? Perhaps what makes us honors students is our ability to pull together any half-assed [insert random assignment here] right at the last minute? The very fact that we have some work in comparison to no work from other students makes us look better.

I know how I learn. I understand what consists of my ideal situation for studying. So why do I wait till the night before to rush around trying to directly pour knowledge from books into my brain? Why do I start considering potential essay questions long after probation closed on my ability to formulate an argument? Indeed, perhaps therapists would consider such intellectual inaction a self-destructive act, as real as an overdose.

Am I alone? I doubt it. We intentionally make life harder on ourselves. It was a decision to procrastinate, albeit an easy one. :-) So why do we take pride in this mismanagement in our lives? Does "crunch time" just bring out the best in us? Oh, I hope so, 'cause I'm in it.

I'm Greg and I approve this post.

Oak Glen Revisited

Happy 17th Birthday, Kevin!

And today is officially Kevin's birthday! So, say Happy Birthday to him if you're a nice person. :D

That's right, call him at home, or in the middle of his birthday activities to wish him a good year ahead. I'd post his phone number, but I'm afraid his family might have my head.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COUSIN-IN-LOVE! ;)

Just had to share...

Since I am across the ocean, and since I am a major-league procrastinator - I thought I would share:

**I have a presentation on a novel due in a week - I'm on chapter 6, Book I. There are IV or V books and over ten chapters each.

**I have a paper due on the same novel in two weeks

**I have a journal and paper due in two weeks; I was supposed to read three articles in the newspaper three times a week for the past six weeks - I have yet to read the paper once.

**I was supposed to check up on rooms for my family here at the college before they came - they are coming today and I didn't check at all.

**I had to read an article for class today - I read it 20 minutes before class started.

Those are just a few of my gold medallions of procrastination. Can any of you beat those? =0D Cheers!

Newest Contributor!

Greeting my dearest South Hallians. How I mourn the fact that I cannot be there. How I mourn that I do not live in room 224 *tear*. And how I mourn the fact that you are going on trips. Here, look at me mourn...

='0(

Enough of that.

For those of you who have no idea who this wacko is - I lived on the female side of South Hall, Room 224 last year; and yes, I do belong to La Sierra's Honors Progam. I'm on a temporaty hiatus - but I will return to finish there next year most likely.

Weep, gnash teeth, and ponder deeply until my return of friends of the machine!

So, that ought to serve as a good enough little jig to start off with. I'll let you all in on my European woes as they come. For now, the anti-sleep is catching up with me and I best get off to my bed before I crash and really hurt meself.

Until then, don't fear papers too much oh good Honorians. They are nothing to the essays I'm trudging through *drop of sweat* Feel blessed.

Oak Glen

I know you all really want to go to Oak Glen.

Seriously, we must.

As a collective Honors group.

In appreciation of God and autumn.

In that order.

Any takers?

Honors Student Quote of the Day

There's a fine line between "do" and "don't". And it's an N and a T. ...And an apostrophe.
