Question:

What causes an honors class to fail? I'm sure by this point most of us have attended at least one honors class that didn't really seem to live up to expectations. But what cause a class to fail. Especially when that class is taught by one of the greatest professors at LSU? Because I'm confused. Were the stars simply out of line? Was the teacher simply incapable of speaking the language of the students? Has the pattern of honors classes leading to this point ingrained patterns of apathy and laziness [there is a difference between procrastination and laziness] which cannot be removed? Or are we letting people into the program that shouldn't be here?

AHOY! We have a Jonah on board. Let us hurl them over the side!

Might I be allowed to investigate? I suspect that I know who it is already.

Empower me to remove the Jonah from our midst, and I will save us all!

Oh-ho! I KNOW who it is. *GASP* Are you questioning the almighty Honors Council? Beware, there are forces at work here that may be much bigger than you can handle! ;)

Although, I don't think the class has failed. The students failed the class. ;) I found it one of the best classes I've taken on campus. Correction. THE best.

I would never question the Honors Council. I might, however, nudge them in a direction that they might not currently be considering... ;) Nudge, shove, fling, hurl, whatever. :)

Is the class really that fantastic? It SEEMS like it to me, but what do I know? I'm looking forward to it, though, from what I've heard so far.

Three cheers for Honors classes!!!

3 cheers out of 10. This is probably one of the few decent classes we have. Global Cultures with Dupee was good. And Bradley's. That's about it.

Is it time to take it to the hill? ;)

It's time to take it to the mattresses (from the Godfather).

What do you mean by the hill?

[and since we are too busy to have these conversations in person why are we all on line so much?]

So you can let the lurkers have fun too.

So the question becomes, why did I click "Publish"?

Excellent question, Greg. :)

And I don't know why we're online so much. Maybe because we're trying to do homework on the computers we're at, but... Why would anyone want to do homework when one could just fiddle around on Blogger and Xanga instead? ;)

What I'm really trying to say here is that we need to go to the beach. ASAP.

If you haven't noticed, it hasn't been exactly WARM recently down here in the Sunshine State.

Umm... This isn't the Sunshine State. We're in the Golden State. The Sunshine State, with its crappy beaches and imitation Disney theme parks, is a pale comparison.

[Who said we needed to stay on topic?]

Oops. I mean, uh, I knew that. *ahem* Yeah..

But we SHOULD be the Sunshine State!!

No, no, we have to be the golden state because of all that desert we have out ther *rolls eyes at the landscape*

So, are we the only ones here?

Greg, who are you calling a "lurker"?
and Amen, in regards to the "sunshine state."

I wan't to go to the desert and see all the wild flowers, ASAP! ;)

I think it's time we take it to the hill. [can't elaborate here, they may be watching us]

I was the lurker, because I had really nothing to add to the conversation. Now that we've completely abandoned the silly pretense of a topic, I can post. :-)

And the wilderness is better at the beach. I'm biased, of course.

Listen, in my country, this is warm. ;) And we go to our sad little freshwater beaches all the time (although, they are very nice--just completely different).

And I want to go to the desert too! I don't remember the last time I was there. :D

The wilderness is really best experienced in the Boreal Shield. Trust me. :)

First, PEOPLE, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I know we all think we're darn great at bs, but COME ON!

Second, Slack, you've lived here long enough to know what state this is! *glare*

Third, we need to go to the beach.

Fourth, someone post something else!

Fifth, that class is spectacular! No more discussion on that needed! :P

First of all, if you want something else posted, post it.

second of all, this wasn't really supposed to be so much about the class as the students.

I strongly suspect that someone in our midst is trying to detract from our path to world supremecy by leading us into the proverbial "woods."
